Origins
We are apes, you and me. Naked apes, more or less. Watch the chimps or the gorillas in the zoo for an hour. Or, take off all your clothes and stand in front of the mirror. That’s right: Take a good long look, and picture yourself with only the items our ancestors might have had–maybe a sharp rock or a sturdy stick good for spearing reptiles or fishing for termites. See it now?
If you don’t believe me, I won’t try to convince you. I’m not here to argue about human origins or debate evolutionism and creationism. Just know that my beliefs, or lack thereof, are one fundamental that will likely shape/cloud (however you see it) the many observations you see posted here.
Whether you agree or disagree though, I hope you’ll bear with me and can appreciate my take on a wide range of today’s events, culture, economics, technology and the environment. The lens I use is one part anthropology, and ten or eleven parts… something else. These are my non-academic interpretations of the world around me. Of Homo sapiens–the most peculiar primate–and all the wacky, wonderful and horrible things we do all over the world.
Thanks for stopping by and exploring with me this most unusual ape.
